OBS loses Twitch connection on every start

For some reason, I have to manually reconnect to my Twitch account after each start of OBS. This means I also have to set stream info window, chat, statistics and so on every time. This happens after each close + start of the program, even without a restart.
Is this normal or did I something wrong?
Setup: OBS 32.1.2 on Mac mini M2 with MacOS 15.7.7
 
Added Info: OBS loses connection to Twitch when I close OBS by pressing the red X of the window. It keeps its connection when I close OBS with "Quit OBS" or Command+Q. Not sure if this is a bug or feature...
 
Just wanted to say I've had the same issue recently. Seems like it started in the past month? It looks like I downloaded OBS 32.1.2 on May 12 so I'm guessing some change in that version caused this, though it could also be something on Twitch's end.

I always quit with command-q, and it seems random whether I have this problem the next time I use OBS. (Maybe the pattern you noticed was just a coincidence?)

I've also noticed that scene projector windows I open seem to randomly get lost—they don't reappear the next time I open the app. I usually have 2-3 open while I stream. The next time I open the app one or all of them will be gone. I don't know if this issue is related, but I seems like it started around the same time, and it's similar in that a user setting is forgotten.

I will try to collect some logs in case there's anything relevant there.
 
I've had this exact same issue happen since the last update. I did a full reinstall of OBS and nothing is fixed. Hoping for a fix in the next update as this is very annoying.
 
The issue for me has now gone beyond just losing connection, it's now preventing me from logging into OBS at all. It now gives this error: "Failed to authenticate with Twitch: Failed to get token from remote: Operation timed out after 5005 milliseconds with 0 bytes received"

This whole thing has seemed to be some kind of connection issue with Twitch. The only panels that disconnect are ones related to Twitch account.
 
July 18, 2026. It started happening to me too a couple weeks ago. Just now, before writing this post, I noticed after logging out and back in (the only fix I know of since it started happening) that Twitch put me through a slightly different looking log-in interface. I'm thinking there must have been a policy change and also an api change that OBS is missing. Maybe?

Having to do this every time i open obs is becoming tedious.

Edit - apparently this slightly different account linking interface heralded the end of the issue. OBS finally started with account-related panels working!
 
It's been back and forth from working to not, to not being able to connect to twitch account, to being able but not loading the docks... for the last 30 minutes. I'm starting to think it's a Twitch thing.

But as write this, the docks have loaded on startup 3 times in a row. Hopefully the saga in nearing an end?
